IV sedation is performed by a medical doctor in our surgery on the day of your treatment. The doctor will issue you with a receipt for the procedure and you will receive a rebate of around half the cost back from Medicare.

You may be able to fund your treatment through your superannuation. Using the Access My Super service, you will be sent an invitation from our practice to make an application to the ATO. If your application shows that your condition is causing chronic or acute pain, you may be eligible to pay for your dental implants using your super. This service does incur a small fee.

Sedation dentistry is a great option for any patients who are feeling anxious about their treatment as it allows for minimal discomfort throughout the whole process. Afterwards, most patients will have very little or no memory of their procedure.
With general anaesthesia, patients will be unconscious and sleep through their entire dental procedure without any awareness of their surroundings. Under IV sedation, patients experience a drowsy, dream-like state of deep relaxation without being asleep. Both options allow the patient to not feel any pain or discomfort during their procedure.

Twilight sedation will last as long as needed for your entire procedure. A medical doctor will administer the IV sedation and ensure you receive the correct amount for your treatment.
After your treatment, you’ll spend around an hour or two in our comfortable recovery rooms as the anaesthetic wears off. Then, you’ll be ready to return to your own home. You will need to have a family member, partner or friend escort you home as you won’t be able to drive.
